Large-Scale Slaughter

Commercial fishers capture all the animals in their path and leave environmental destruction in their wake. Called “the bulldozers of the ocean floor,” fishing trawlers have decimated ocean ecosystems, exterminating 90 percent of large fish populations in the last 50 years. This net has captured 400 tons of fish and other marine animals—all the animals in its path for miles.
