Tuna
Tuna are consumed more than any other fish in the ocean, which has caused their populations to decline by more than 90 percent in the past 50 years. The largest tuna are bluefin tuna, who can reach 15 feet in length and weigh more than 1,500 pounds. Fish are slaughtered in ways that would warrant felony cruelty-to-animals charges if any other animal were treated so horribly. This bluefin tuna was corralled into a net along with her entire school. She is dragged onboard by pickaxes sunk into her flesh and will be chopped up while she is still conscious and able to feel pain, if she survives that long. |
